Why would you pull a Hungry Man box out of the trash at work?

In my late teens, I was working in a science park. I kept a small amount of food in the freezer of the kitchenette for my all-nighter work sessions, especially Swanson's Salisbury Steak and Chicken Parmigiana.

One weekend night, I think around 3am, I go into the kitchenette to find a uniformed security guard nuking my Swanson's from the freezer. Despite encountering a teenager in this facility in the middle of the night, he doesn't say anything and he turns away from me and avoids looking at me.

Unfortunately, there had been an epidemic of unexplained thefts of valuables from offices throughout the science park, so I reluctantly informed the office manager of this suspicious incident. I gave her the name of a manager at one of the other organizations in the park, who had been trying to crack the case, and who I believe shared the same security personnel. My Swanson's was not a big deal, and it could have just been a misunderstanding, but I thought she and the other guy should compare notes under the circumstances.

I don't recall another theft anywhere in the park after that, but nobody told me what happened.

So, the next time you catch someone rifling through your Swanson's at work, do not hesitate to overpower them, wrest the Swanson's from their hand, and pin them til the police arrive.
