This looks like a very interesting program for folks doing community journalism and govt accountability stuff. I'm going to make every effort to attend. My semester ends that week, so I should be able to work it into my schedule.

Flouting FOI freedom of information public records principles.

The routine flouting of FOI freedom of information public records principles and sunshine open public meetings principles of open government by the hundred or so staff and officials at our Boston City Council need to be looked at more critically. They should be supporting openness in their daily practices not just giving lipservice to an ideal. The key people that have been obstacles to access council publications and communications are the council staff director, city clerk, assistant city clerk, city messenger and council president.
