First-degree murder conviction in 19-year-old murder case

A Suffolk Superior Court jury today found Kurvin Richardson guilty of beating and stabbing Noemi Roman to death in front of her todller son in 1990, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Richardson will be sentenced on Monday to life without parole in a state prison.

Richards was arrested in 2005 after investigators used DNA samples taken from under Roman's fingernails to link him to her death. The tests were unavailable in 1990.
