Say, we don't get many turkeys in here

And with prices like these ...

Ahem. The Berkeley Beacon reports on a turkey found wandering around the state Transportation Building early Tuesday:

Havoc almost broke out at City Place Plaza Tuesday morning due to the presence of a distraught wild turkey outside the Stuart Street entrance. At 6:15 a.m. baristas at the City Place Starbucks spotted what was either a genetically altered starling or Ben Franklin's favorite bird.

With exclusive photos of the city fowl.

They're in the South End too!

Last week a friend of mine spotted one on West Concord St and a few days later, while peeking through the gate into the Washington St Burial ground, I spotted one behind the "St Elsewhere" building on Franklin Square.

I spotted one two weeks ago strolling down Kilmarnock Street between Brookline Avenue and Boylston. The last I saw of it, it was heading down the ramp into the parking garage of the Trilogy Building.

Jangling his keys?

And humming a little turkey tune as he got ready to pick up his hen for a night out?

Perhaps it was the same

Perhaps it was the same turkey, protesting proposed T service cuts because he is sick of doing all the driving.

Hope it found a safe place to go, unlike the one

I passed on Rte 9 in Wellesley this morning near the median guardrail. He was not so fortunate.
