The HHH clubs use chalk and chalk piles to mark their trail (the trail is unknown before the start of the run and runners (hounds) chase the hare (trail marker) to a finish line (bar). So, if you see chalk markings or small piles of chalk on the sidewalk, it's probably HHH and not anthrax.
