That memo from Stephen Mindich is the most down to earth of its kind that I've read -- and unfortunately a lot of them have appeared in the media over the past few months.
Kudos to them for imposing the largest cuts on the highest paid people in the company -- including themselves -- and for stating on paper that they hope to be able to rehire those who are being laid off.
BTW, while Adam Reilly's post says the cuts will range from 10% to 2%, Mindich's memo gives a 50% to 2% range. Obviously a huge difference.
Hey, great timing Michael Graham! Just this morning (Friday), the WTKKK yakmeister praised the Phoenix for mentioning him in a story about Bill Ayers' gig at Brandeis. He, Michael Graham, went on to say that the Phoenix is an example of a journalistic enterprise that's NOT in economic trouble, like the Globe. Isn't it possible that Craig's list has impacted alternative papers at least as much as more "mainstream" papers, just in a different, ahem, arena?

Great Timing, Michael Graham
