Wicked Local West Roxbury reports that City Councilor John Tobin (West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain) is, with a partner, opening a comedy club at the Charles Playhouse.

Two Councilors Walk Into a Bar

I can't figure out why, but this strikes me as being great. Not what you'd expect from one of our city councilors. It's different, and hopefully funny.

He's actually done stand-up himself (as well as emceeing).

He's decidedly high energy. He's one of the few councilors who can match Da Mare in attending meetings and visiting constituents. Then he is a very active husband and dad. He's always responsive for constituent services. Hell, he even runs road races, often pushing his youngest in a running stoller. I doubt he sleeps.
