Rally for the horses on Tuesday
By adamg on Fri, 05/01/2009 - 11:03am
The Boston City Council holds a hearing Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. to consider the mayor's and police commissioner's plan to dismantle the Boston Police mounted unit. There's a rally beforehand on City Hall Plaza.

I reckon'
I'd be OK with this, just as long as they get to keep their 6-shooters and ten gallon hats.
Bias much?
Did you really just pick the Monday after the Kentucky Derby to try and rationally discuss horses? This seems like a serious ploy in timing given that there are only about 3 weekends a year that Americans give a pile of puckey about horses...and they chose to hold a hearing on the Monday after one of them even though they've known for over a month that this needed to be discussed.
Yay, politics.
It's Tuesday, not Monday
I keep thinking I'm too young to develop dementia, but inability to read a calendar correctly is surely one of the first signs.
I don't care one way or the other
You might say I don't have a horse in this race.
I agree
I just don't want this discussion to be dominated by naysayers.
Please...
Quit saddling us with puns.

The Hearing
Bet it turns into a real (sul)dog and pony show!
Saddle up!
What do the horses have to say about this?
They've been known to express themselves.
All the puns not withstanding:
Mounted police units are an advantage, because police on horseback are able to see what's going on from a distance due to being much higher up than if they're in a car, and to get to the scene of a crime more quickly at times, when necessary. It would be unfortunate if the Mounted Police Units were to be dismantled.
