Rime of the Ancient Turkey of Savin Hill
By adamg on Sat, 05/02/2009 - 2:46pm
Dan Tobin provides the photographic proof Savin Hill has at least one turkey, along with proof that Savin Hill has a Little League.
... Dorchester hasn't been a place where wild turkeys roamed free for quite some time - it was incorporated in 1630. So I think it's fair to assume the turkey I saw this morning was nearly 400 years old. ...

I watched this parade go
I watched this parade go down Dot Ave while I was on my motorcycle. They only took up the outbound lane of traffic as they marched toward Savin Hill. The kids were sporting their team shirts: Savin Hill Orioles, Savin Hill Red Sox, Savin Hill whatever. They were waving miniature American flags. It was nice to see. I gave them both the biker's wave (fingers down) and regular waves (fingers up), a few salutes and few thumbs-ups. Here's to hoping all the players have a good season.
