The mayor has one woman's back in Dudley Square

Signing

Tom Menino signs a woman's windbreaker in Dudley Square today, shortly before participating in an announcement about new bus service. Why? Because she asked him to. He asked if she'd be washing the jacket. Never, she said, adding she'd been looking forward to asking the mayor for the unique autograph.

I have a grainy picture of the back. I think the autograph says, "To my pals at Harvard, don't worry about the blight and vermin infestation in Allston caused by your needless work shutdown, just keep sending your employees to my campaign photo ops and I'll make believe that I care about the residents and the unemployed construction workers. Your buddy, Tom."

Nice try, but ...

There was no contingent of Harvard types there, just this one woman with the jacket, a bunch of puzzled locals wondering what the governor and the mayor were doing there, a bunch of suits from various state transportation agencies and a bunch of reporters, photographers and camera crews.

You just confirmed the Harvard contingent I was talking about. Isn't that "Know Nothing" in the background, Byron Rushton one of them too?

I thought it may have been the photo I saw on boston.com but this confirms it - Mumbles is spending a bit more time tanning than usual, it seems. I nearly mistook him for Valentino as of late.
