Will the Orpheum be renovated this summer?

Depends on whether you believe the Herald:

[Don] Law said the Orpheum Theatre will undergo renovations this summer by owner Ronald Druker. “The discussion is ongoing, but my sense is they will be significant,” Law said.

or the Globe:

For consumers, the latest ownership change is unlikely to have a significant impact on the programming or ambiance of the three venues. Law said he does not anticipate making significant renovations to any of the facilities.

It looks like it could be

It looks like it could be just a matter of sematics -- Law won't be doing the renovations (Globe), but Ronald Druker (Herald) will. Certainly, if this is the case, the Globe story is inaccurate by omission.

Someone should check that balcony

I haven't been to the Orpheum in many years, but all I remember is that the balcony shook like crazy. Is is still like that?

You should see the backstage area..

Very scary back there. It's been a few years but I remember thinking that if there were a fire, we would never get out.

Druker Co. plans $1M Orpheum revamp

The aging Orpheum Theatre will get a facelift this summer.

The Boston concert venue will undergo about $1 million in upgrades by its owner, the Druker Co., a Boston real estate firm.

The work will include extensive renovations to the theater’s bathrooms, and new carpeting, paint and other cosmetic work, including some seat replacement.

So when will the Globe correct their story?
