The Globe reports construction could begin this fall on a Charlestown facility for testing giant blades for wind turbines, thanks in part to a federal stimulus award to be announced today.
Can someone tell me why we don't have wind turbines on every inch of soil, water, rooftop, or whatever? That is, if it has a good steady win?. Or, why we don't have solar panels on every rooftop? It makes so much sense to harness wind and sunlight as a source of energy yet some people fight it. Why? It is damn well time that we free ourselves from the OPEC and the oil companies. It makes me sick to know that there is really only a small percentage of the population holding us back from become free of their stranglehold.
