Man suffers stabbing pain on the Green Line

The outbound Green Line experienced delays this morning past Copley thanks to a guy who managed to sit on the knife he was carrying in his pocket, the Globe reports.

I was on one of the outbound trains this morning behind this incident and was stuck, unmoving between Boylston and Arlington for at least 15 minutes, closer to 20.

I get to work and explain the situation to my boss (and why I couldn't call w/no cell service underground), and then I go on the MBTA website to see if the delay is posted. It was not; there was, however, a delay listed from 5:43am pertaining to the Orange Line.

I call the MBTA, they say they'll fix it/note it.....wait 15 minutes, & nothing changes.

I write the MBTA a comment.....wait 15 minutes, & nothing changes.

Call the MBTA again and explain the situation; nice agent on the phone says that she has no record of it but will investigate and call me back; she also says they'll also be happy to send me a letter for my boss if it was genuine.

Still -- this delay does not appear on the MBTA website, but the Globe has it.

How much more incompetence does the MBTA have up its sleeve?

-I know. It was a pain in the ass.

-No, I mean you're late...

It took an ambulance, transit police and about a dozen BPD? I walked by the scene and I thought there was another trolley crash - Dartmouth street was blocked off and there had to be at least 5 cruisers, a paddy wagon, an ambulance and a Transit police car - maybe they wanted to congratulate the guy for his Darwin Award-Honorable Mention?

"The knife went through the pocket and stabbed the man at about 8:10 a.m.

“It caused a serious injury, but it’s not life threatening..."

That seems like a euphemism for "He stabbed himself in the nuts". I don't think an ass wound of any kind qualifies as a "serious injury".
