Done in by a key fob

Boston Police report arresting two teens last night after their Shot Spotter microphone system picked up the sound of gunfire on Wilcock Street.

Police say witnesses said the shots came from a black mini-van. Police say officers soon found an empty black mini-van with a still warm hood - along with several shell casings around the vehicle. Just then, police say, officers noticed another vehicle peeling out of the area - after first backing into another car. They gave chase and when they caught up and ordered the occupants out, noticed a set of keys in the car:

Officers returned to the scene where the mini-van was located to see if the keys belonged to the mini-van. Once there, officers pressed the button activating the car's remote alarm. Upon pressing the button, the motor vehicle's alarm system chirped on. A check of the mini-van's registration showed that one of the suspects shared the same address as the one the car was registered to.

Reade Armstrong, 19, was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition. Also arrested: Abiona Sharpe, 19, of Revere, on an outstanding warrant out of Chelsea District Court.

Innocent, etc.
