new Newsstand price: $9.50 for less content and coverage than ever
new Home Delivery price: $12.25
It's not worth 50 cents to me, either. The MetroWest coverage has gone down to miniscule (even when Marilyn Devaney is involved, Watertown barely gets coverage), and I can never find out what happens to wrecks I see on Storrow/Mem/Soldiers Field roads at night.
I think the Globe has better find a way of monetizing its online version, or they will go the way of the dodo. Deservedly.
... it is Globe West. Unfortunately, with the elimination of the Northwest and CityWeekly sections, the coverage for individual towns in each of the "regionals" is down to nothing.
And the coverage for things in Boston proper that I find important (like the T and what exactly happened with the overturned car at the Copley(?) WB exit on May 3rd) seems to be limited to AP feeds [pfeh], or Universal Hub.
Also, the "region" maps seem to leave Cambridge uncovered. Poor Cantabrigians.
...I wasn't able to sign up for home-delivery a few weeks ago via the Globe's online function. I opted for 7-day delivery, gave relevant CC info, etc., it went through without any problem, and then...nothing. No paper delivery, no bill, nada.
Now it will be truly cheaper to buy newsstand copies anyway...

Times are tight...
Remember Adam just had to take a paycut and the Phoenix still gets copies delivered to the office.

Watertown isn't MetroWest
at least not the way I usually see that term used.
Its local coverage is in the
Its local coverage is in the "metrowest" section of the Globe, though.
That section is called Globe West
not 'MetroWest'. It also includes Brookline, Arlington, Lexington, and Belmont, among other non-sprawl suburbs.
Sorry, you're right...
