Bosrunner tweets Mass. Ave. is closed from Upland toward Harvard. Jesse Gross tweets it's a two-alarmer in the 1700 block.
Wicked Local Cambridge reports the fire broke out in the basement of a hair salon at 1776 Mass. Ave.
Inbound traffic is backed up to Lexington, and people are stuck in buses.
Trackless trolleys outside Harvard station with no place to go.

Those aren't shuttle buses, those are electric trackless trolleys that couldn't get back to the storage yard at North Cambridge after finishing runs on Routes 71 and 73 because Mass Ave is blocked. Trackless trolleys cannot detour, they have to go where the wires go.

They were on 77A service (often displayed as 71 and 73). They also run on 72 service.
