Breakfast with Ayanna Pressley

Mike Ball and I had breakfast with Pressley this morning in JP (at Doyle's, of course). He does an excellent job summarizing the discussion so go read his account. Basically, Pressley is bright and personable and well versed in the ways of government, which would help tremendously in the consensus building she says are vital to the city, but at some point, she'll need to take some specific stands on issues.

I met her this weekend in West Roxbury and was not impressed. She knows little about the city. Pressley is just a carpetbagger from Chicago. She tried to play me like a fool as if she's known Boston forever. She doesn't know Readville from Charlestown and vice versa. She's spent so much time in Washington DC over the past 14 years, that she doesn't even know what's important to the locals. I'll never vote for her. Pressley is phoney.

"shirley" and "Marcus", you both sound like an incompetent attempt at astroturfing.

I love it when candidates think they are entitled to office because of who they know. So what that she worked in DC for Kerry for the past several years. How does that make her qualified to serve the people. She reminds me of Patty White in 2003 and 2005 when she ran on her father's coatails... This time it is John Kerry's "plastic" staffer running on Kerry's coatails. She won't place higher than 7th. Bostonians will be able to sift through the B.S. and see right through her like saran wrap.

Never one to rely entirely on direct experience, Ryan Adams blogged about the Pressley meeting.

Ryan was invited but couldn't make it. He is one third of the Left Ahead! triumvirate.
