Boston Web site adds more local pages, still none in Boston itself
Word out of boston.com is that they've opened up six more Your Town sites, in Hingham, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Norwell and Scituate. Still not a single "Your Neighborhood" site.

But why compete with Universal Hub?
Boston.com is getting a bit techno-trendy -- all these town sites have twitter accounts: @MedfordUpdate, @HinghamUpdate, etc.
The problem with things like
The problem with things like Twitter updates and super local pages is that you have to maintain a steady stream. In a local environment it is ok to have a Newspaper once a week, new blogs a few times a week, a new website change daily, but when it comes to Twitter there is an expectation of new stuff a few times a day. Its not uncommon for people to refer to yesterdays Tweets as "old". Heck its not uncommon for people to say a Tweet is outdated because it crossed the one hour threshold.
Screw it. I come to UH for
Screw it. I come to UH for my local updates. I go to Boston.com for major news stories. It's the way it's been for years now and honestly, it's worked great for me. I'm thinking they already realize they've lost the hyper local battle for Boston with great community newspapers already existing and lots (literally tons) of Boston bloggers filling in the gap.
