The Boston Public Market at Dewey Square (South Station)

The Boston Public Market opened last week at Dewey Square (South Station). It will operate every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm, through October 30, selling locally grown fruits, vegetables, meats, and other farm products.

They don't seem to be doing much publicity yet, so I decided to give them some free advertising here.

I stumbled across this yesterday, and immediately phoned coworkers. They deployed, and within five minutes we had a sizable percentage of our firm wandering around eating strawberries.

So nice to have something so close.

I hope the market grows as the summer moves into full-throttle! Yesterday when I looked around briefly it seemed all there was available was a bunch of plants, herbs and bread from one bakery. Bring on more fruit and veg!!!

I'm a big fan of the Dewey Square Market. I've talked to the vendors there, and it's been tough for them. Thousands of people run through to make their trains at South Station without stopping. So please stop by!

If nothing else, the strawberries that actually taste like berries rather than straw are simply amazing.
