Umbrella love

Great balls of fire: The sun was actually out today! At least, for a few hours. One couple at Castle Island was able to reuse their umbrella as a parasol on the Castle Island fish pier.

Or maybe they were just getting ready again. Because even as kids scampered and adults jogged and sunbathed, menacing clouds were rolling in from the west (15 minutes after I left Castle Island, I was in Mattapan, where it looked like it was getting set to pour).

Boston Common

was where I ate lunch. I was joined by, like, half the city, in the sunshine. Rhea

And not long after ....

The Common was devoured by a giant dark miasma :-).

Driving along Day Boulevard around, oh, 1 or so, the clouds building up over downtown was quite the dramatic site (I should've just pulled in and taken a photo, but I was in desperate need of fried clams at the time).

Short-lived

Yup, Adam, the good weather blew right out of town after 17 minutes or so. Rough estimate. Rhea
