2) Now, *this* is why we need to put assault rifles in beat cops' cars. What if a Spec Ops officer goes down, like this one did? Who's going to shoot him through his armor to put him out of his embarrassment?
I take it the guy wasn't wearing steel toe/shank boots.
They are heavy, but they do prevent this type of accident in places where there is a lot of metal scrap around. I can see why the cops wouldn't wear them though.
