Police: Gunman goes on holdup spree across the area
Boston Police say a black man with a beard and a gun is wanted for holdups in Jamaica Plain, Fenway, Charlestown, Cambridge and Somerville since June 23.
Police say the man usually pretends to purchase something in an attempt to get the clerk to open the cash register, then pulls out his gun and demands money. He's a suspect in the following cases:
6/23: Tedeschi, 321 Broadway, Cambridge, 1:35 a.m.
6/23: 7-11, 451 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, 3:32 a.m.
6/25: 7-11, 508 Park Dr., Fenway, 12:09 a.m.
6/25: Sunoco, 434 McGrath Ave., Somerville, 10:22 p.m.
6/26: Shell, 820 Memorial Dr., Cambridge, 6:09 a.m.
6/26: Dunkin' Donuts, 99 Cambridge St., Charlestown, 10:49 p.m.

... but I did have to chuckle a little. My mom always warned me to stay away from "drug addicts wearing parkas in the summer". She might have been right about them feeling cold when they shouldn't because they screwed up their nervous system, but it still amuses me to remember her very specific fears.
