Junkie gets three years for ramming man with his mini-van; victim shows some signs of recovery
Corey Legere, 24, was sentenced to three years in state prison and three years probation today after earlier pleading guilty to plowing into a Jamaica Plain man walking across Centre and Ardale streets in Roslindale last October, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office says.
Legere admitted he'd shot up with heroin before getting in his car - and to fleeing the scene of the accident. He was arrested at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he'd gone with his girlfriend for treatment of his own injuries.
Prosecutors said the victim was thrown 15 feet from the point of impact. The DA's office said today that the man, who initially seemed likely to die, "has demonstrated some control over his motor control functions" and "is also beginning to interact with his family again."

3 years for what accounts to
3 years for what accounts to taking someones life away?
Bullshit.
