I hope their houses all burn to the ground. Don't fucking live downtown if you have a problem with noise, assholes. Go live in Weston.

Seriously

What's next? Petitioning the MBTA to stop running its trains in and out of South Station?

yes

Exactly it's the city. It's supposed to be noisy. Especially if your downtown what would you expect?

City Life

This reminds me of some smarmy douchebags who bought condos in the back bay and fenway areas in the 70s and 80s. They would complain endlessly that the fraternities and independent living groups affiliated with colleges devalued their condo property.

One problem: how does something that was there for 50 to 75 years before you arrived devalue your property? Maybe, just maybe, you got a great deal because that "negative" presence was there?

Funny thing is, the very rural areas where I spent much of my childhood are having a similar problem. You see, there are a lot of suburban/city/California people who bought ranchettes and hobby farms way out in the sticks without understanding that living next to extensive tracts of farmland was not going to be a quiet, bucolic way of life. Farming is a 24/7/365 operation involving large diesel engines, dust, sprinklers, shit, spraying fields and work crews.

Unbelievable

Petition signed, and I urge everyone else who would like to see a safer and non-lame downtown nightlife to do the same.

Since we don't have T service at 2 a.m., it is practically a matter of public safety to provide a place for people to sit and have food and coffee after hours. I lived in Upstate NY prior to moving to Boston, and the plethora of 24-hour diners in the area improved life and *made it safer*.

Downtown is downtown, the Big City. Can you even imagine this issue being brought up in Manhattan?

Yuppie morons

Swirlygrrl is right - they probably bought their condo's at a lowe prcie because they were located next to a late night diner, so where do they come off trying to close it down?!!

It was there when they purchased their homes and if they don't like it, they shouldn't have moved there, and perhaps should have boght in a suburb.

If they really want to do the city a favor

they should start by revoking the liquor license of that Revolution Rock Club in the financial district. It's loud, there's always fights there and if I recall correctly, wasn't someone shot there on NYE last? Leave the SSD alone, it provides a service in this city unparalleled since the days of Mondo.

Bonus points to anyone who knew the name of Mondo's dog!
