He visits every single subway stop in a single day

Michael Femia read about some guy who visited every single London Tube stop, so he set out to re-create the feat here. He reports on his 12-hour adventure on Friday. And he posts a photo from every single stop, save one. First person to figure out which one gets an autographed copy of his station checklist.

from inside the car, right?

no way that gets done in 12 hours waiting for the next train at each stop. In grad school i was studying a particular philospher whose writings for different reasons were better digested on the T, and I tried to do this (staying in the car that is, not exiting at each stop). Starting about 9am or so I got the full blue and orange lines, the b, c, and d lines, red line from alewife to braintree, then gave up once i got back into town because i had a meeting to get to at 7pm in cambridge. It is incredibly tiring believe it or not.

Wow

It must be great to be unemployed, have no family or ambition and mean nothing to absolutely no one that you could waste half a day of your life doing this. You would have been better off helping the homeless or picking garbage up off the streets, you self righteous jack ass.

Aw, Mr. Grumpypants

It must be rough having such a black-and-white linear mind that can't possibly fathom that somebody might be able to spend some time doing something different and not be an uncaring misanthrope.

But I admit it - I am SO living vicariously through Michael's expedition.

I feel really bad for you

It's hard being in a position where you don't ever have a day off from work and don't ever get to do something that's enjoyable to you. It's too bad that you have to work 365.25 days per year. I'm sending my strongest thoughts and deepest wishes that life will soon bring you something where you can make ends meet and have a day off once in a while.

The photo collection is a testament to his determination but all told, his 12 hour project seems like a bit of an obsession.

The question is, at how many of these stations was he harassed by T personnel for taking pictures?

The forgotten station...

... is North Station. Kinda hard to forget that one, but I don't see a picture there from North Station.

Thanks, almost everyone

It was indeed Butler I missed. Oh well. Eeka won the prize.

I actually didn't have any interactions with any security people; I figured I'd at least get some suspicious looks, but no. I guess nobody saw anything or said anything.

And to answer pierce's question, I stayed on the trains for the most part. Sometimes I hopped out to get a better shot, or because my foot was falling asleep, or something. No way could I have stopped and waited 130+ times.

WOOHOO! LOOK AT ME!

I'M A WINNER! WOOOOO!
