Scary T plan would end commuter-rail service at two stops after 150 years

Beverly commuters are organizing to fight any closing of the Prides Crossing and Beverly Farms stops.

Why close both of them?

They are pretty near each other, so it might make sense to close one or the other (and make the remaining one a full-time stop). But both of them? Why does the T want to do this, and what would it gain them?
