Red Line train stuck in tunnel for an hour

At least it wasn't at rush hour, but that's no consolation to the people who were stuck on the train in the tunnel near Davis, around 3 p.m.

MBTA Redline Train riders left in the dark

If it weren't such a miserable situation, it might have been funny. After smelling a scant scent of smoke the train stopped between porter and davis and for a good half hour there was not a word over the speakers about what was happening...then we got a garbled message that no one on my car could understand, 10 mins later we get "sorry for the delay we'll be moving shortly".
Some sweat covered T employee kept running between cars (saying nothing), finally it felt like we were being pushed--backwards toward porter (no engine noise)...no announcements of what to do next and after we emerge from the depths of porter (over an hour later) there is NO ONE from the t to explain what comes next and No shuttle busses
