At least by 2000, and through mid-2006, the Grub Street Writers organization had a Web site at the "grubstreet.com" domain name, which domain name is now being used by this food-writing business.
Just because you let the domain name expire, does not mean that you don't have a trademark. Grub Street writers have been around for a long time, seems they have a mark.
But maybe the writer's group sold the domain name to the food site.
