Alewife commuters should allow extra time

The T reports delays out of Alewife due to a broken train. Al Stevens tweets:

Alewife full of people. No trains.

Larabair tweets:

stranded in non-ventilated Harvard for 30'. I would have been 20' early, now i'm late.

Andrew Kimpton tweets that trains getting to Park Street were discharging all their passengers, " forcing hundreds of passengers to wait on the platform." Jeff Dunns adds T workers at Park Street gently encouraged riders to get off the trains by swearing at them.

Of course, every cloud has a silver lining, right? Rebecca Ferrell tweets:

Completed BOTH sudokus AND the crossword in the Metro on my way in to work this morning -- thanks, massive red line delays!

You want out of touch? I'll show you out of touch!

Alewife looks like the Washington Mall. Heads as far as the eye can see. Several incomprehensible announcements dropped in among pre-recorded statements about a disabled train. Blue shirts running away from crowds. The only visible T employees are the cleaning crews.

and they're not even T employees

The fact that the cleaning crew are not MBTA employees is determinable by looking closely and seeing the logo for "One Source" ( a janitorial/cleaning company) on their uniforms. Also because they're actually doing something other than hiding and/or sitting on their ass all day.

I actually didn't mind

Stuck on a delayed Northbound train due to this. Didn't like being stuck, but at least the AC was working very well - got to cool off nicely from my walk to the station :) (Oh, and the keystone cops were more interested in drinking coffee than searching people, which was just fine by me. Maybe something about Southie that this is the 5th-ish time they've been scanning folks there during the AM commute)
