this is so sad, and yet such a perfect lens on mayor Menino's vision for the waterfront on the day the McLegal Seafoods announces a 3 story feedbag on the old Jimmys Harborside.

"Welcome to the South Boston Waterfront, convention folks. Can you tell you are in a different city than your last convention in . We hope not"

No way. This place had a great kitchen, good food, good service, and had a Unibroue beer for $5 which made this a great to relax at the bar for a beer (most places charge $7 or more for such beer).

If this is true then Achilles will be missed by me at least. However, I no longer work near there and wasn't able to stop in, in a while. :(

It's true unfortunately. I work in Ft Point and went over for dinner tonight to see what was going on. Everything seemed normal until a woman (who was not dressed like the wait staff) came in with an empty box and took some pictures off the wall. I talked to my server and she confirmed it. It's too bad -- fantastic meal tonight as always. As the previous poster said, we have to hope the waterfront doesn't become a McCircus. At least there's Flour and Sportello to keep us going for now.
