Alleged Jamaica Plain burglar gets a really big break
Boston Police report officers managed to corner a man who had just broken into a house at 74 Perkins St. in Jamaica Plain this morning - only to watch him jump out a second-floor window. However, he didn't get too far:
The suspect immediately fell to the ground and held his leg. Officers approached the suspect and observed his leg bone to have a serious break. A black bag was also located containing numerous items belonging to the homeowner. The contents within the bag contained numerous pieces of jewelry and a Bose radio system. The suspect was positively identified by the victim and placed into custody. He was then transported to Brigham & Women's Hospital with his shin bone protruding away from his leg.
Edward Ernest Remy, 49 of Dorchester, was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime by force, willful and malicious destruction of property and larceny over $250.
Innocent, etc.

And now he'll get a free treatment at the hospital on the taxpayer dime most likely, will be put through the courts and hopefully dealt with, and possibly sue the homeowners liability insurance for making it so easy for him to jump out the window.
