Why the inbound side of the Broadway bridge was shut this evening

It's not that high a bridge.

But the water isn't all that deep, and it's probably loaded with shopping carts and other debris that could break a neck. Also, it doesn't matter how high a bridge is if someone can't swim. Maybe that was part of it?

I saw some yellow taped died neat the S Boston end. If he climbed the 'suicide' fence he could have jumped onto the red line third rail or the NEC energized wire and gotten electrocuted... Never mind you could just 'land wrong' on a short fall or landed on a fence or hit your head on a rock or...

My guess is he decided he wanted to go out in a human bug zapper, since we have no word of anyone being hit by a train.
