Bill would keep Harbor island from becoming LNG terminal
H.3806, filed by state Rep. Bruce Ayers of Quincy, would bar the state from leasing out Outer Brewster Island, now home to a long abandoned gun battery and lots of nesting birds and seals. In 2005, an energy company proposed building a $500-million LNG terminal on the island.

So does this mean that the supply of natural gas to Quincy will be cut off? Apparently, Rep. Ayers thinks that natural gas appears magically in your stove and hot water heater.

Let's leave the parklands alone. If you haven't taken trips out there to these pristine islands, you should.
The only reason why LNG wants this terminal is so they don't have to foot the bill of security costs every time a tanker comes in under the Tobin. I'm ok with he few extra pennies on the dollar on already cheap natural gas to save Brewster. Screw their greedy shareholders.
And don't give me crap about a 4 mile wide tanker explosions, when the facility will most likely be storing much more then a tanker holds.
I favor putting an LNG
I favor putting an LNG terminal at least several miles away from population centers, and then shutting down the Everett one.
Perhaps Everett doesn't mind being vaporized, but surrounding cities might.
