Fire in Brighton tonight?

Police have blocked off Washington St in Brighton Center between Market/Chestnut Hill and Cambridge St. There were fire engines out near the front of Porter Belly's or about that distance down the street.
Anyone know more?

A pedestrian was hit by a car near porterbellies and taken to the hospital. no word on injuries.
Huh.
And nothing mentioned in the papers or news stations that I can find? That's pretty bad.
Also, that crosswalk sucks for both the pedestrians AND the cars. Most of the time, traffic on Washington gets backed up at the Market St light and pedestrians are forced to walk out between cars.

I was about 3 cars behind the car that hit the girl last night. Heard the tires screech and then lots of screaming. I really hope the girl is ok, but it didn't look good, I think she got hit pretty hard. Fortunately they were right next to St. Elizabeth's and the police station so the response was quick.
