The 49-year-old drawbridge operator was taken into protective custody, and is
being placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. In the interim, the bridge's operation will be suspended.

All I can say is

*** BREAKING UPDATE MUST CREDIT UNIVERSAL HUB ***

After an Internet snafu fouled phone lines and e-mail at the courthouse this morning, the DPW reached a magistrate via telegram, insisting that the court lift the bridge's suspension. After brief arguments, the judge issued a cable stay.

Oh, now I see what I did... my bad. I should have said:

According to the article, he was taken into protective custody but not formally charged. Maybe they're still trying to figure out which law covers "operating a drawbridge while intoxicated" :-)
