Out-of-state Republican decides not to run for Kennedy's seat

No, not Bill Weld, silly. Mitt Romney, who, you may recall, sold his Belmont house awhile back.

Romney ran against living in Massachusetts and being our Governor, called Commonwealth citizens "a bunch of vegetarians" as if that was supposed to endear him to the people in the other 49 states. What a dick.

Is calling someone a vegetarian an insult? What an ignorant tool. Wasn't Romney the guy who strapped his poor dog to the roof of his car for a fun-filled 12 hour ride to Canada?

The guys a Business man,

The guys a Business man, that's for sure. It's funny to contrast him with Kennedy, who had his own demons, but sued them to follow a path that wasn't about power, but of helping people.

Romney can have fun losing out again in 2012 to Sara Palin. After all, he's the type of politician that helped create her.

Maybe Hillary could run for it

Since an "out of state" democrat is never an issue.

High-profile politicians usually get a pass on residency

I think it wasn't much of an issue for Hillary Clinton as she really had no choice in where she lived for almost a decade. True, it was a gamble for her constituents to roll the dice and believe that she would understand their issues having lived in NY for such a short amount of time, but on the other hand everyone knew she was out to prove herself, and was therefore unlikely to let them down.

Dick Cheney was a resident of Texas for many years, reconfirming that with state offices as late as 2/22/00. Trouble is the 12th Amendment says you can't have a President and Vice President from the same state. (I don't really see the need for that restriction, but whatever).

That summer, after whittling down the list of possible Vice Presidential candidates to himself, Cheney decided he was a Wyoming resident on 7/22/00.

It's cute how he thinks anyone here cares about this. Maybe he can find one of his other 3 "home" states to tthrow under the bus, because mitt would need spend the other half of his fortune to even run for dogcatcher here at this point.

Good

What a fucking disgrace to the Republican party he is. I want him to pay me back for all the money I've spent on health insurance minus the benefits I've actually received.

He should just do the world a favor and hide from public view for the rest of his worthless life.

I think it's cute that he

I think it's cute that he released a statement considering nobody in this state ever wants him to come back again.

He made his choice, stay the hell out.

No kidding

MITT ROMNEY: Hi, I'm Mitt Romney and, uh, I'm not going to run for Ted Kennedy's seat. Just sayin. In case anybody was curious.

COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS: Don't worry, we weren't.

MITT ROMNEY: Hey, remember when I was governor?

Actually, Mitt just reminds me of the kid at the pool who keeps hollering at Mom to watch him, watch watch watch watch now, cause he's gonna do a wicked cannonball off the diving board, look, look, he's doing a cannonball, didja see? Didja see him do a cannonball?

and Massachusetts...

And Massachusetts is sitting on its deck chair with its nose buried in US Weekly, engrossed in the latest Gosselin drama, saying "that's very nice, deah".

Mitt who?
