Card "took a beating" - a steady and deafening outcry of boos - at UMASS the year he accepted his honorary degree, for his role instigating the Iraq War. No one appreciated his idea that pitching fraudulent war propaganda was like rolling out a new product, only to be done during an ideal season.

I hope he runs. He'll get his ass kicked.

For Democrats, the trick is going to be getting the vote out because it's a special election and people are complacent.

I'll be out there canvasing against this fuck.

I'm still peeved UMASS has the audacity to invite him and give out that sort of degree. It's one thing to have forums for different opinions, it's another to have a speaker at graduation that is so diametrically opposite of the values that higher education tried to live up to.

Huh?

"the values that higher education tried to live up to."

Actually, what you meant to say was "values with which I disagree". Yes, we all know how welcome differing opinions are on Boston-area campuses, especially ZooMass...

Always great to start the day with a laugh, thanks Adam!

"considers" MA his home

I'm not sure that meets residency requirements ... does anybody know the rules and how they are verified?

If he has been filing his taxes in VA as "resident", he's got less claim than Mitt!

the requirements are pretty vague...

basically at the time you serve, you have to be an "inhabitant" of the state you represent, which means you need a home there that you are in at least part time.

Not so fast!

The voters demand to see Andy Card's birth certificate. No, not that little one with the seal on it, we need to see the long form. The official one. No, not that one the state gave you. Anybody can get that one. We need to see the long one, the one that is proof that you were not born in Iceland. Why can't you produce it? Why won't you produce it?

So which do we demand?

No, you can't show us a 1040EZ or a 1040A - ONLY the long form 1040 will do ... and it MUST be handwritten!
