Has anyone ever heard the following conversation?
"Hey guys, lets go to ____"
"naw man, theyre working on the sidewalk, lets go somewhere else"
I just dont understand how construction of any kind lowers business.
Do you plan every visit to a business in advance?

There have been plenty of times when I've gone into a store, restaurant, or bar without having planned my visit in advance. Quite often, we're just out and about, and make a spur of the moment decision to go in based on something we see in a window or whatnot.
It's also not all that uncommon for me to cross the street to avoid walking through a construction area.

The smokers with whom I work/drink routinely avoid places where there's no sidewalk on which for them to smoke. That would be a bigger problem for a narrow, high traffic, high speed stretch of road like that block of Prospect St.
