Orange Line riders restless this morning

Apparently lots of trains are heading toward Forest Hills, not so many going in the direction most people really want to go in the morning.

At 8:46, Travis Farrenkopf tweeted that when he got down to the platform at Forest Hills, there weren't any trains. Then one came in - and promptly went out of service.

At 9:23, Beth summed it up:

Today the part of the Green Line will be played by the Orange Line!

Adam, You should just start putting up stories when we don't have a line delay or shutdown this summer/fall.

Has anyone kept track of the number of days since June that there's been problems? I bet it's less then 7 days.

I waited 20 mins at Gvt Center this morning (from 7:45-7:58) and Kenmore (8:07-8:14) for a D-Line train. Of course, no mention of any delays on the MBTA web site.

The orange line was a disaster this morning. I couldn't get on the first train that came through Stony Brook because it was just too crowded.

Definitely some peculiar scheduling this morning. I arrived at Forest Hills to see two trains, one completely full (presumably about to leave), the other in that "doors will close and re-open" moment. In spite of the full train, the platform was also crowded. I got on to the empty train when the doors opened, and then they announced the other train was going out of service. So essentially, we left Forest Hills filled to capacity, while an empty train went in to the yard. Nobody could get on at all until Ruggles, and at each station, the train was further delayed by people trying to get on but only blocking the doors from closing. I don't understand why they would take any trains out of service during rush hour.
