Mellows harshed on Common: Cops hand out tickets at pot rally

The Globe reports on the first annual Freedom Rally on Boston Common since voters decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana.

Previous years have been a revenue loss for the city (arrests cost money). This year, it looks like the event might be revenue neutral for the city (100+ $100 fines). Sounds good to me.

I say legalize it with

I say legalize it with regulations that are a cross between alcohol and cigarettes. They make you intoxicated like one and put off harmful smoke like the other.

The problem with this is smoking is prohibited from the indoors and drinking is not allowed in the outdoors. I say anyplace with a roofdeck could be a very popular place if it were legalized because it would be the mix of both worlds.
