Happened to me getting on Amtrak once...
I slipped and got one leg stuck in the gap, up to about the knee. I was able to lift myself out and remarked, "Well, first time for everything!" to the stunned people around me. It was only once I had taken my seat that it really hit me: "Whoa, that could have ended badly..."
I've also slipped in the gap
I've also slipped in the gap once about up to my knee as well, but on the Orange line at rush hour. Thankfully a guy already on the train pulled me up quickly, but....scary!
Time for some "mind the gap" announcements a la the London Underground, perhaps?
Amtrak usually does "watch your step" announcements....
But still, I'm just that clumsy. Luckily in my case, the train didn't pull out for another ten minutes or so. Would have been very scary on a subway when I thought the train would take off at any moment!
