Exam-school test pre-test

OK, so Nov. 7 is the Big Test - the ISEE exam that helps determine which sixth graders get into one of the Boston exam schools next fall.

You have to fill out a registration form to take the test, of course. With a number-2 pencil. So that you can fill in all your answers in the form of little circles.

No, I am not making this up.

Poor dears. Why can't they be picked for Boston Latin school by looks. Or maybe a swimsuit competition.

I remember it was my birthday and I took the ISEE exam at Hyde Park High School. About three months later, I was accepted into Boston Latin Academy.

So, no, you are not making this up, Adam. I sat there for 30 minutes filling out the registration form, but it saved my mother and father tens of thousands of dollars from sending us (myself and two of my brothers) to a Catholic high school, as two of my brothers also went to BLA and Boston Latin School. The other brother went to CM and St Anselms, and he's still paying off the loans ~ 15 years later.

I had to do that last year when I took the test (go O'B!).
