Garden returns to its roots, if only for a few hours

Matthew Cote noticed the sports arena over North Station was officially back to being just the Garden today, at least, until crews finished replacing the "TD BankNorth" with just "TD."

I know that the TD is the corporation's
official moniker (TD = Toronto Dominion) for all of its companies and properties, but boy, is that a clunky, uninspiring name!
"Banknorth Garden" is not poetic, but at least Banknorth sounds like you know, a bank that should be part of the New England landscape, whereas "TD Garden" (and TD Bank) sound like... nothing in particular.
(They could have at least gone to "TD Boston Garden," thereby retaining their corporate presence in the name AND delighting legions of residents & fans with a partial return to the old name.)
TD Garden is the sequel
To "T.J. Hooker," starring Chris Pine.
Tedious Bank and Garden
is what that name always sounds like to me.
