Fucking cyclists
"fucking cyclists don't know how to not ride like asses"
"fucking drivers don't know how to yield to cyclists"
"cyclists need to get off the road"
"drivers need to get their heads out of their asses"
(There, I took care of all that for everyone so no one needs to bother. Carry on.)

Thanks, eeka!
I've been wanting to write up a long piece that already includes all the expected statements/arguments. That's a good start. ;-)
Adam: link fail

Also, to be nitpicky: it's a bit melodramatic to say the bike "shattered into multiple pieces." The front fork broke off. That makes for a grand total of two pieces (the bike, and the front fork with wheel still attached).
Thanks
Link fixed, melodrama toned down.
Might have been melodramatic ...
But it was accurate. The fork went from one piece to three; two pieces remained attached to the wheel.
isn't there a brand new bike lane at this location?
I'm curious what effect, if any, it had on the accident.
Bike Lane?
I thought that was an extra skinny express lane like the ones on Willow St. in Somerville and the special right hand lane for Leominster drivers on Hampster St. in Cambridge.
Is it just my imagination,
Is it just my imagination, or has there been a recent spate of bike accidents along with the new bike lanes? Anyone done an introductory before and after analysis?
Theres no way to determine
Theres no way to determine causation.
It would be foolish to say that more bike lanes = more accidents when in reality it may be more bike lanes = more bikers = more accidents (but same % of accidents)
increase in Uhub stories,
increase in Uhub stories, yes. but not necessarily proportional to actual accidents.
equipment failure.
still painful :(
