Ernie Boch Jr.'s mouthpiece would hire PI to find identity of Ernie Boch III

Bob Nelson reports on the Boston Radio List that he was listening to Carr on WRKO this afternoon and the car dealer came on down and said:

  • He is not the Ernie Boch III, who's calling for a boycott of Carr's advertisers on Blue Mass. Group (and on tried on Red Mass. Group, where the reaction was a bit less friendly).
  • Flack Extraordinaire George Regan suggested he hire a private investigator to find out who III really is
  • Boch thinks it's somebody at the State House

I think it is a great publicity stunt

Who's doing it, however, is anybody's guess. Both Ernie, Carr, and WRKO certainly got quite a bit of attention from it, didn't they?

Kinda suspicious that they HAVEN'T started legal action, eh? There's a decent case for libel in there somewhere.

Hard to start legal action

Hard to start legal action when they aren't sure whom to serve the papers to.

it's actually REALLY easy

You file the case against a jane/john doe, then get a court order served to the hosting company. It is, in fact, nearly trivial.

Ugh

Teaming up with Howie Carr and whining like a petulant frat boy whose dad owns a dealership -- that's so rock 'n' roll, Ernie. Joe Strummer is shooting you a V sign from the grave and calling you a wank.

Jr. Owns the Dealership

I wholeheartedly endorse your sentiment, even though I'm no fan of EB3. But I wanted to point out that EBJr inherited the business when EBSr, and that it's a $1B business.

But he's still a wanker, no doubt about it, hanging out with the Andelman boys and pretending to be a blues man.

You'd think the moderators

You'd think the moderators would have the basic consideration to deny the use of names of public figures for usernames. It shouldn't take a lot of deep thinking to figure this out.
