Zombie hunting banned at Northeastern

The Huntington News reports that when Northeastern police responded to a report of several people running around campus chasing other people with guns, they found six students with a plastic toy shotgun and Nerf guns playing Humans versus Zombies:

The plastic shotgun was confiscated and the six students were counseled on the dangers of playing such a game in an urban setting.

In other Northeastern gun news, the News reports a student who liked shooting birds on campus with his two BB guns was reported to school authorities. The bongs and marijuana grinder police also found in his room didn't help his case.

Good thing the SWAT team was

Good thing the SWAT team was at Wentworth.

Even a five year school can't teach common sense.

Nor do most four year schools...

So, people who play games lack common sense? Or is it just people who play games in college?

Either way, these games are essential to training people who to survive in the face of a zombie apocalypse. Or just blowing off some steam after a particularly rough test.

Note that they did not confiscate the Nerf guns

Also note nobody was arrested and that the campus police advised students about the dangers of running around an urban environment with something looking remarkably like a gun.

Casual Weaponry

My son told me that he was going to go to iParty after school with a large group of friends and buy some fake gun props for their latest youtube misadventure.

I told him that running around in public with them was a really bad idea. "But they're plastic". Yeah, but I can't see that from a distance. The damn things are "props", so they don't even have orange muzzles! Maybe I can tell from how your arm is moving that they are very light weight ... if I take the time ...

But he's 13. I fully expect that he has no sense and that he's going to have to be informed about these things and have me explain exactly why it is a bad idea and why I don't want them around. Just like our conversations about buying swords ... real swords.

Adam, Was it possible they

Adam,

Was it possible they were practicing the school's disaster preparedness plan?
