Late-night Chinese food on Harvard Avenue, anyone?

The owner of Unique Chinese, where Dragon Wok used to be, 145 Harvard Ave., goes before the Boston Licensing Board next week to seek permission to extend its closing hours from midnight to 3 a.m.

The hearing starts at 10 a.m. on Weds., Oct. 14 in City Hall Room 809A.

Good for him, lets hope he gets it!

There's almost no late night food options in this damn city.

They changed their name in the last couple weeks, and tried to zazz up the inside (there's apparently a karaoke machine). Good spring rolls.

Golden Temple (http://www.healthyfreshfood.com/) in Brookline is open until 1am weeknights, 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. The food is good, highly recommend the lean spare ribs.

I'd love to see more late night food options in the neighborhood, but it would be nice if it was someplace better than Dragon Wok.

It's interesting that the proposal is being made under the name "Dragon Wok," because the restaurant has recently gotten spruced up and re-named itself "Unique Chinese Restaurant" - new signage and everything.

The application lists a different corporate name (which involves neither "Dragon Wok" nor "Unique Chinese") and I jumped to the conclusion that, aha, it must be that Chinese place that's been there forever.

Thanks to the folks who pointed out the change - I've edited my original post.

Actually, the Dragon Wok is no more. They've cleaned up the inside and put a new sign out front. "Unique Chinese" or something.

There is new ownership there. It's been renamed Unique Chinese Restaurant. I think they've only been opened for about a week.

Don't know if you all heard yet, but they changed the name to Unique Chinese.

I thought the name of the place was Dragon Wok, but it's entirely possible they've changed it.
