Police: Wentworth SWAT incident may have started as a drug deal gone bad
Boston Police have released some details of the events leading up to their storming a Wentworth building early this morning.
They report a man agreed to meet the suspect around 11 p.m. at Burstein Hall on the Northeastern campus, 458 Huntington Ave., possibly to buy drugs. But the suspect pulled a gun and demanded the other guy's laptop - and then fled:
The victim was able to supply Northeastern Officers with the suspect's information. Northeastern Officers, acting in an undercover capacity, phoned the suspect and negotiated a deal to purchase the stolen computer. The suspect agreed to meet the "buyer" in the area of Annunciation Road to conduct the transaction. The suspect showed up but recognized a police presence and fled the scene.
The undercover cops saw him enter the Wentworth gym, then called the Boston SWAT unit because he might be armed. However, by the time they swept the building, he was gone.

could be worse,
those "undercover" NU cops could be working for ATF or FBI.
what about all of the drug deals gone good?
i think we tend to focus on all the deals gone bad. what about the success stories, which happen every day?
actually, i'd be interested to know what the promised drugs were. word in the classroom is that pills are the big thrill this year: oxycodone, and speed meant for ADD/ADHD patients. i've heard that dependency on such drugs are a real problem for students.
