Every time one of these incidents gets publicized, it guarantees another one will happen. Damage to golf course grass does not deserve newpaper articles.

This version of the swastika is supposedly the original one
It is quite ancient -- and signified blessings (and other good things). The backwards swastika is also ancient and (usually) meant the opposite -- one wonders whether the Nazis were aware of this when they adopted this as a symbol? And one wonders what (if anything) the individual in Lakeville knew about any of this?
Hitler fancied himself an
Hitler fancied himself an artist, graphic designer, architect, etc. and spent a very long time trying to come up with a logo for the National Socialist Workers Party. Some British collector has all of the drawing studies in a personal museum of Nazi nicknacks.
After failing miserably to come up with something original, he copied the ancient symbol. Prior the the 1930s it was primarily a symbol for good luck. This wasn't even an original idea on Hitler's part, as Mussolini had done the same thing with the fasces a few years earlier.
