Some workplace etiquette tips from your friends on the Supreme Judicial Court

Never get romantically involved with a supervisor or a subordinate. Stop that right now, just don't even think about it.

If you feel the workplace is overly sexualized, don't go to office holiday parties, or if you do, don't wear risque outfits and get drunk.

The justices provide these tips in a ruling released today involving an employee of Cognex Corp. who charged she was punished at work and ultimately fired for filing a complaint with the state over alleged pawing and job punishment by a supervisor after she spurned him (back in the late 1990s). The court, however, agreed with the company, which argued the case should be dismissed in part because of what the court called "willing participation in sexualized behavior in the workplace," and that she was fired because she began spending way too much of her work time on her harassment complaint.
